15 inspiring blog posts about overcoming perfectionism I’m loving right now

Hi friends! Last week, I shared a round up of 5 of the The Gratefulist’s most popular blog posts, chock-full of tips to help you let go of perfectionism.

Today, I want to pay it forward. Over here at The Gratefulist, we believe in the power of community. Slaying the perfectionism dragon can be a lonely job, but you don’t have to go at it alone.

There’s an entire community out there, doing the.bomb.dot.com work in helping recovering perfectionists deal with their perfectionism, that I’m excited to support.

So, without further adieu, here are 15 blog posts about perfectionism that I’m loving right now.

Let’s do this.

7 things I've learned from helping women overcome their perfectionism

7 things I've learned from helping women overcome their perfectionism

What is holding you back from doing the work to overcome your perfectionism?

Ever since launching my 1-on-1 coaching & mentoring program at the beginning of this year, I’ve been so lucky to have worked with dozens of women in helping them go from stressed-out perfectionist to recovering perfectionist.

Having a backstage pass to so many transformations in my clients’ personal lives (and working lives), has taught me a thing or two about raising your hand and saying yes to doing the scary thing.

Mindset blocks, hesitations, not feeling good enough or like you don’t have what it takes, wanting to backtrack… I’ve seen it all. And guess what? Everybody feels this way.

Feeling this way is not a sign to quit or to not invest in yourself. In fact, feeling this way is how you KNOW you’ve taken the right step. Because saying hell-to-the-no to your perfectionism is supposed to scare the hell out of you.

You’ve been carrying around your perfectionism for years. It’s been your trusted companion, your go-to survival mechanism, the devil you know. If overcoming perfectionism was easy, you’d done so already.

But trust me, you’ve got what it takes. You can do this. Find strength in the women who’ve gone through the process before you. If they can do it, so can you.

So, without further adieu, here’s what I've learned from helping my clients (brave women just like you and me!) overcome their perfectionism.

Why women struggle so much with perfectionism (and what to do about it)

Why women struggle so much with perfectionism (and what to do about it)

Why do so many women struggle with perfectionism? Are you one of them?

Perfectionism is a problem. And women in particular struggle with it a lot.

I’ve shared before about perfectionism being a bad thing and why I believe there’s no such thing as “good” perfectionism.

But perfectionism must be doing something right, otherwise it wouldn’t be an appealing option to so many of us.

I’m 100% convinced that perfectionism takes away from us and holds us back, but it must give us something too.

Let’s find out what that is.

Did you know that letting go of perfectionism comes with one unexpected result?

*cue nail-biting suspense*

I’ve written about how perfectionism negatively affects us many times before. Well, my friend, there’s one way perfectionism shows up for us, that we haven’t talked about yet.

Perfectionism doesn’t only affect us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It doesn’t only show up in our relationships, in our work, and in everyday life situations. It affects us physically as well.

That’s right… overcoming perfectionism helps relieve stress, tension, and physical pain.

Now, I realize the topic of stress relief is very broad. In this blog post, I’m not going to give you EVERY single tip when it comes to dealing with stress or go over EVERY stress-busting strategy there is, but just the ones that I’ve found to be helpful in overcoming perfectionism.

Let’s get to it.
